Stucco complete on exterior

Next...clean-up and landscaping. Froze tomatoes and peppers this morning. Interior floor to be emplaced this week...cut the arch and stucco it in a turquoise blue...need to get some other pigments.

There was a touch of frost on the lower garden last night

We'd been drying onions on the straw strewn paths between garden beds for the past week. Some of the pepper plants were touched by frost, the tops of tomato plants, sweet potatoes...so we harvested what we needed to for now...and we'll let the warmer weather of the next couple of weeks ripened the rest.

Another day in the life

Some low lying areas around here were frosted last night...our upper garden is fine, but we've yet to go over to Cheryl's studio to check out the lower garden... Busy prepping for stucco. The addition is wired and ready to go. We'll take a walk through the woods to the studio...check things out and then return to mix and apply stucco.

Why are we still in Iraq? Why do we continue to build up troops in Afghanistan? Why do we continue to use Blackwater as a mercenary force? Where are the promises of the Obama administration? Is it possible for him to articulate to us just what is going on in so many arenas? He's looking impotent and aloof. Here's some pics from around the homestead today. Please, let us find peace for all...and justice.

The bees are busy...as are we. Cheryl's canning beets, with very little help from me. I notched the log shelf into the kitchen addition window and gave it a good finish. Mowing the lawn was more like herding frogs.
